A sneak peek at our newest photos!

Christmas Photo Shoot

The fantastically talented Meredith Bauroth of Island Love Photography will be taking our pictures on Sunday! I can't wait to see how great she'll make us look this time! If you haven't seen her new website yet, check it out here:
I will be sure to post some of them as soon as they're ready! You'll certainly be seeing one on our Christmas card this year....
If you're interested in booking a session, let her know you heard about her from one of her favorite clients - the Theilings!

A Big Boy Car Seat!

Grady has been slowly but surely growing out of his infant seat. Besides the fact that his feet hang over the end and the straps are super tight around his shoulders, the infant seat was getting SO heavy to carry around with a 16 lb. baby strapped in!
We took him to Target and let him test out all the seats! We picked one out and Eric installed it as soon as we got home. This morning, Grady got to ride in it for the very first time - and he loved it! He's already hidden 2 different pacifiers in the cupholders to *save them for later!*
Here's a picture of him getting ready for his very first ride in his big boy seat!

A trip to the pumpkin patch!

On Monday, we took the babies to the pumpkin patch at Cahill's Market. Stella was a bumble bee, Macy was a ladybug, Grady was a tiger, and Mary Katherine joined us as a hippo!

Grady loved seeing all the pumpkins and even tried to put a few in his mouth! I just love these pictures, and I know he will enjoy looking at them in the years to come.

PS: I definitely had a Kate Gosslin moment (remember the Christmas tree episode?!) while we were trying to snap a good picture of all 4 babies. I don't know how in the world they ever got a good one of all 8!

Time for a Check Up!

Last Friday, Grady had his six month check up. He was weighed, measured, poked, and prodded. The nurse said he was doing great eating with a spoon and trying new foods, and suggested we start moving him towards more common table food, and that we can put in the food processor to make it more of a baby food texture.

Stats: Weight: 16 lbs 2 oz. (25th percentile)

Height: 27 inches (50th percentile)

Flirting Level with the new nurse: off the charts!!!

He got three shots which always seem to cause a reaction in him. That was the main reason we scheduled his appointment for a Friday - he'd have all weekend to recoop. Well, this time his reaction was downright scary because at 10pm Friday night his fever spiked at 104.4 when I went up to give him his Tylenol dose. We put him in the bathtub with some lukewarm water and called the emergency nurse. She said not to worry unless it got to 1o5. Well, too late - I was freaking out and he was just screaming. About 2 hours and 10 cool washcloths later we finally got him back to sleep, and his fever never got above 103 again.

Monday, however, he came down with a stomach virus. I'm sure he probably caught it at the doctors office. Poor Chelsea was such a good sport when he let it all out first thing Monday morning at daycare. I immediately called the school, and our wonderful secretary found me a sub at a moment's notice. I am so thankful to have such a great team of teachers to support me in surprise emergencies like that! Grady stayed home until Wednesday recovering with Dee Dee - and we learned he loves bubble gum Pedialyte!

Time To Celebrate!

We took pictures in our onesie...

We wore a special outfit to school...

We painted with pudding.....

And we got all clean again!

Grady is SIX Months Old!

Six months ago I had no idea what to expect out of Mommyhood. I knew I'd be tired. I knew I'd love you. And I knew life would never be the same. While all of those things are true, I never knew exactly how fulfilling the job of Mommy would be. Yes, I am tired... but when I get to wake up every day to your smiling face full of excitement - it makes me jump out of bed to go grab you and cover you in kisses! Yes, I do love you... but I love you more than I ever knew was possible. And yes, life will never be the same - it will be infinitely better!!!!!! What in the world did I do before you arrived? Well, I guess I was just getting ready to be the best Mommy I can possibly be for you.

Happy half birthday little man!!! You have changed our lives in absolutely every way, and I wouldn't change a bit of it! Mommy and Daddy love you more than you'll ever know!

A New Set of Wheels!

Please Drive Carefully - Babies On The Move!!!

The babies absolutely LOVE getting out of the house and going on their daily stroll now!

Grady's First "Field Trip"

Miss Chelsea took the babies on a little neighborhood field trip to the pond last week! Macy's mommy brought them some denim diapers to lounge around in. They enjoyed playing with toys, trying out their sippy cups, babbling with each other - and since it was Friday - jamming out to some Bob Marley. Grady loves Bob.

Fall Is Here!

We love these little pumpkins:

Grady and his playmates are getting excited about the cooler weather. Here is a picture Miss Chelsea took of them playing with their little pumpkins. We are planning to take the 3 of them to Cahills Market (our little pumpkin patch) to take pictures of them in their Halloween costumes!

Aren't they cute?!?!

Grady Sits Up!

Grady is definitely gaining his independence! He started sitting up around 5 months, and by 6 months he is now a pro! He can sit up all by himself for longer and longer periods of time... he gets a little tired after about 15 minutes now. Usually we put a boppy pillow behind him, but that's only because we don't want him to knock his head on the wood floors downstairs.

He is starting to flop over on his belly more often, and recently has begun sleeping on his belly (by rolling in his crib) at night and during his naps. He wiggles and turns, but no crawling yet! I have seen him turn in a complete circle in order to get to a toy.

Now that he is on the floor level more often, he is REALLY into the dogs. I guess this is a good thing since they will need to learn to live in harmony together - but Jackson loves to give big sloppy kisses to Grady when we're not looking. Why did I ever bother to sterilize anything now that my DOG is licking him in the mouth?!?! Yuck. Grady loves it though. I think they have a mutual understanding that if mommy isn't looking they can totally play together!
